About the Awards

The Legal Aid Awards are a distinguished recognition initiative that celebrates the outstanding contributions of Law Schools, Universities, and Colleges in advancing legal aid, access to justice, legal awareness, and social justice initiatives.

Institutions that have demonstrated meaningful impact through community engagement and pro bono legal empowerment will be honored during the 15th International Conference on Human Rights at ILI, New Delhi.

Eligibility

Applications are invited from:

• Bar Council of India (BCI) recognized Law Universities, Law Schools, and Colleges.

Evaluation Period

Activities undertaken between 1 January 2025 – 31 December 2025 will be considered, including:

• Legal Aid Clinics (inside and outside campus)
• Legal Awareness Camps
• Conferences on Legal Aid, Human Rights & Social Justice
• Other supporting initiatives with relevant documentation

Recognition & Benefits

Selected institutions will receive:

• Free Conference Pass for the Legal Aid Coordinator/Chair
• Memento & Certificate of Recognition
• Opportunity to address delegates and showcase institutional initiatives at the International Conference
