About the Workshop
The Crime Scene Investigation Workshop precedes the competition and provides hands-on training in forensic investigation. Participants will learn:
- Principles of crime scene management
- Do’s and don’ts in evidence handling
- Practical application of forensic science in criminal law
The workshop is open to students from all disciplines and academicians, with separate registration available for those not competing.
About the Competition
The CSI Competition is a simulation-based exercise replicating real-life criminal investigations. Teams will:
- Examine a simulated crime scene
- Document and analyse evidence
- Apply principles of Criminal Law, Evidence, and Forensic Science
- Present structured reports with logical reasoning
Assessment will focus on clarity of reasoning, evidentiary correlation, and analytical depth.
Eligibility and Team Composition
- Open to full-time students and research scholars (Law, Criminology, Social Work, Human Rights, Police Administration) under 30 years of age.
- Forensic Science students are not eligible for the competition.
- Teams must consist of two members from the same institution.
- Maximum of 70 teams (20 reserved for SOEL).
- Workshop-only participants may register individually.

- Deadline: 12th August 2026 (extended)
- Competition Fee: ₹3,000 per team (₹2,500 for SOEL teams)
- Workshop Fee (only): ₹1,500 per participant
