About the UPES Law Review

UPES Law Review is the leading UGC CARE listed academic annual peer reviewed journal emanating and embracing legal scholarship, of School of Law, UPES, Dehradun, published by Eastern Book Company. It had its inception in 2013 when it published its first volume and received the ISSN Number: 2347-9620. Its superior reputation is reflected in the excellent quality of the articles published by academicians, industry experts, law experts and scholars in its previous four editions and this flagship journal is about to enter its tenth publication cycle this year.

The Law Review does not only maintain its high standards for publication but also the highest level of integrity, transparency and consistency and has been working towards creating a landscape to promote qualitative and scholarly research.

UPES Law Review – Call for Papers (Volume XI, 2026)

Theme: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Law

The School of Law, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) invites submissions for its flagship peer-reviewed journal, the UPES Law Review (Volume XI, 2026). This edition focuses on the evolving intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Law, encouraging scholarly engagement from diverse contributors including academicians, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and students.

Submission Categories

  • Articles / Research Papers: 5,000–7,000 words (inclusive of footnotes)
  • Submissions must be original and unpublished.

Abstract Guidelines

  • Authors are required to submit an extended abstract of approximately 500 words.
  • Abstracts should clearly outline the research problem, methodology, and expected contribution.

Important Dates

  • Extended Abstract Submission Deadline: 20 July 2026
  • Acceptance of Abstracts: 25 July 2026
  • Full Paper Submission Deadline: 30 September 2026
  • Publication Window: December 2026 – January 2027
