ABOUT ORGANISATION: 

The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE) is a deemed-to-be University established under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956. IFHE is National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) A++ Grade University. IFHE’s comprehensive student-centric learning approach provides relevant knowledge, imparts practical skills and inculcates a positive attitude among the students. 

The ICFAI Law School, IFHE, Hyderabad is a promising destination for the students desirous of making law as their Dream Career. The ICFAI Law School is a significant segment of the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, deemed to be University, and its programs are recognized by BCI. It provides a blend of theory and practice, law, management, humanities and technology. 

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

The ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad cordially invites you to the Shri NJ Yasaswy Memorial 11th Moot Court Competition, 2026, scheduled to be held from 4th– 6th September, 2026. 

Over the years, ICFAI Law School has hosted several prestigious moot court competitions including the 33rd All India Inter-University Moot Court Competition in collaboration with the Bar Council of India in 2017, the NJYS Memorial Asia Pacific International Moot Court Competition in 2018, and the 4th NJYS Memorial Moot Court Competition in 2019. The tradition continued with the 5th, 6th, and 7th editions being conducted virtually from 2020 to 2022. 

The 8th edition was held offline from 25th to 27th August, 2023, followed by the 9th edition held offline from 30th August to 1st September, 2024, followed by the 10th Edition held offline from 29th August to 31st August, 2025. We now look forward to hosting the 11th edition, marking excellence in legal advocacy and academic engagement. 

THEME: 

1. There will be five rounds in total, two preliminary rounds, quarter final round, semi-finals and final round. 

2. During the Preliminary rounds, each team shall argue both sides – (the existing statement).

3. Based upon the merit of aggregate marks of the first and second preliminary round, top eight teams will be selected for the quarter finals round. 

4. Eight teams in the quarter final round will be competing on knockout basis wherein four teams will be qualified for semi-finals. 

5. Semi-final round will be a knockout round wherein two teams from it qualifies for the final round. 6. Written Memorials – Each team must submit the soft copy of memorials of moot proposition, on behalf of both parties, in pdf format and word document format, no later than 11:59PM IST on 23rd August, 2026 via Google form circulated for submission of memorial in the brochure and rulebook.

The hard copy of all memorials shall be submitted (four (4) hard copies each) at the time of physical registration mandatorily at ICFAI Law School, IFHE, Hyderabad on 4th September, 2026.

The last date for seeking clarifications on moot proposition will be 9th August, 2026. 

ELIGIBILITY:

The competition is open to 3-years and 5-years undergraduate law students from all the states throughout the Nation. 

Only one team from a law college is allowed to participate in the competition. 

Team Composition: 

Each team shall comprise 3 members- 2 Speakers and 1 Researcher. 

REGISTRATION FEE:

Early Bird Registration: Rs. 2850/- 

Regular Registration: Rs. 3450/- 

Accommodation: Rs. 5000/-

WINNER: Rs.1,00,000/- + Trophy & Merit Certificate 

1st RUNNER UP: Rs. 50,000/- + Trophy & Merit Certificate 

2nd RUNNER UP: Rs. 20,000/- + Trophy & Merit Certificate 

BEST MEMORIAL: Rs. 10,000/- + Trophy & Merit Certificate 

BEST SPEAKER: Rs. 10,000/- + Trophy & Merit Certificate 

BEST RESEARCHER: Rs. 10,000/- + Trophy & Merit Certificate
