Moot Court Competition | Space Law | Canis Lupus Society of Skill Based Education | 4th–5th September 2026

1st Space Law Moot Court Competition – September 2026:

The Canis Lupus Society of Skill Based Education (CLSSBE) proudly announces the 1st Space Law Moot Court Competition, scheduled for 4th–5th September 2026. This pioneering event invites law students across India to engage with the rapidly evolving domain of space law, a field that addresses critical issues such as satellite governance, liability for space debris, militarization of space, and regulation of private space enterprises.

About CLSSBE:

CLSSBE is a student‑driven initiative registered under the Madhya Pradesh Society Registrikaran Adhiniyam, 1973, dedicated to bridging the gap between academic learning and practical skill development. With an outreach of over 2,66,000 individuals, CLSSBE has conducted 30+ workshops and 10+ expert sessions with advocates, academicians, and members of the judiciary, fostering applied learning and professional exposure.

About the Competition:

Unlike conventional moot court competitions, this event focuses on contemporary challenges in space law, requiring participants to interpret international treaties and emerging national frameworks. Structured in multiple rounds, the competition simulates real courtroom dynamics, offering opportunities to refine skills in legal research, drafting, oral advocacy, and strategic thinking.

Space Law in India:

India’s journey in space law gained momentum with the Space Activities Bill, 2017, which sought to regulate commercial space operations, establish liability frameworks, and ensure compliance with international treaties such as the Outer Space Treaty. Though not enacted, the Bill remains a cornerstone in India’s evolving regulatory approach, highlighting the importance of a comprehensive legal framework for space activities.
