About the Seminar:

This international seminar critically examines how law, public health, and socio‑economic structures intersect to shape the lived realities of women sex workers. Often positioned between regulation and risk, women sex workers face exclusion from legal protections, healthcare, and welfare systems, intensifying vulnerabilities such as:

  • Violence and exploitation
  • Public health risks (HIV/STIs, lack of reproductive healthcare)
  • Economic insecurity and poverty
  • Legal ambiguity and criminalization
  • Social stigma and marginalization

The seminar seeks to promote rights‑based legal frameworks, harm reduction strategies, and inclusive socio‑economic policies to enhance dignity, safety, and justice.

  • Economic Vulnerability: Poverty and livelihood insecurity.
  • Health Risks: HIV/STIs, reproductive health, mental health.
  • Violence & Exploitation: Abuse in unsafe environments.
  • Legal Challenges: Criminalization, lack of access to justice.
  • Social Stigma: Discrimination and exclusion.

  • Format: A1 size, portrait orientation.
  • Font: Times New Roman, clear and professional.

Awards: Best Poster & Best Presentation. Evaluation Criteria: Design (40 marks), Relevance (30 marks), Communication (30 marks).
