Introduction:

The Office of the Additional Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Coimbatore, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, has announced an opportunity for the engagement of a Young Professional on a contractual basis. This initiative is part of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade’s mission to strengthen India’s export promotion and trade facilitation framework.

About DGFT:

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade is entrusted with the formulation and implementation of India’s Foreign Trade Policy. Its primary objective is to promote exports and enhance India’s participation in global trade. DGFT also issues authorisations and scrips to exporters and monitors compliance through its 24 regional offices. Working with DGFT offers young professionals a chance to contribute directly to India’s economic growth.

Vacancy Details:

  • Number of Positions: 01 (One)
  • Location: Office of the Additional DGFT, Coimbatore
  • Nature of Engagement: Contractual, initially for one year (extendable at the discretion of the competent authority).

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age: Not more than 30 years on the closing date of applications.
  • Health: Applicants must be in good health to discharge official duties effectively.
  • Educational Qualifications:
    • Law: Master’s in law or LLB.

Remuneration:

  • Consolidated Pay: ₹56,000 per month (subject to applicable deductions).
  • No additional allowances or facilities are admissible.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Engagement is purely contractual and does not confer any claim for permanent employment.
  • Professionals must submit a medical fitness certificate and police verification report before joining.
  • Governed by the Official Secrets Act, 1923; confidentiality of official data is mandatory.
  • Working hours: 9:15 AM to 5:45 PM (Monday–Friday), with flexibility for extended hours or weekend duty if required.
  • Leave entitlement: 8 days per year on a pro‑rata basis; maternity leave as per the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017.
  • Engagement may be terminated with 30 days’ notice by either party.
  • Travel within India may be required; TA/DA admissible as per rules.
