About the Competition:

The 1st CCI–AUB National Moot Court Competition, 2026 is the inaugural national-level moot focused exclusively on Competition and Antitrust Law. Conceived as a premier platform, it aims to foster rigorous academic engagement with issues such as:

  • Abuse of dominance
  • Digital market regulation
  • Algorithmic pricing
  • Enforcement challenges under the Competition Act, 2002

The moot proposition reflects the complexity of modern competition law litigation, drawing upon economic analysis, regulatory practice, and appellate jurisprudence.


Eligibility & Team Composition:

  • Open to undergraduate law students enrolled in 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programmes.
  • Each institution may nominate up to two teams.
  • Teams may consist of 2 or 3 members (two speakers or two speakers + one researcher).
  • Cross-institutional teams are permitted.

Registration Details:

  • Fee: ₹6,500 per team (2 or 3 members)
  • Complimentary accommodation for 30th & 31st March 2026
  • Important Deadlines:
    • Registration Opens: 19 Feb 2026
    • Provisional Registration Deadline: 1 Mar 2026
    • Final Registration Deadline: 14 Mar 2026
    • Memorial Submission (Soft Copy): 26 Mar 2026
    • Memorial Submission (Hard Copy): 30 Mar 2026

Competition Format:

  • Day 1 (30 March 2026): Inaugural Ceremony, Preliminary Rounds, Researcher’s Test
  • Day 2 (31 March 2026): Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Final Round, Valedictory Ceremony

Awards & Prizes:

  • Winner: ₹50,000 + Trophy + Merit Certificate + Internship at Shivadass & Shivadass Law Chambers
  • Runners-Up: ₹25,000 + Trophy + Merit Certificate + Internship
  • Best Speaker (Male & Female): ₹5,000 each + Trophy + Certificate
  • Best Memorial (Applicant & Respondent): ₹5,000 each + Trophy + Certificate
  • Best Researcher: ₹5,000 + Trophy + Certificate

Moot Proposition (Brief Overview):

The proposition revolves around Pravahana Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (“PRAVA”), a digital mobility platform accused of:

  • Algorithmic price discrimination via its proprietary system Astra
  • Exclusionary conduct against rival platforms
  • Abuse of dominance under Section 4 of the Competition Act, 2002

The case raises critical questions on:

  • Algorithmic accountability
  • Dominance in multi-sided digital markets
  • Evidentiary standards in competition law
  • Proportionality of penalties and remedies
