NALSA Internship Opportunity | April & May 2026 | Apply Now!

About NALSA:

The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) was constituted under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 to provide free legal services to weaker sections of society and to organize Lok Adalats for amicable settlement of disputes.

The Internship Programme 2026 is designed to acquaint law students with the functioning of NALSA and provide hands-on exposure to legal aid, dispute resolution, and institutional mechanisms.


Eligibility:

  • Students pursuing a Three-Year LL.B. Course or Five-Year Integrated Law Course from any recognized university/college/institution.
  • Preference:
    • 3rd–5th year students of the Five-Year Integrated Law Course.
    • 2nd–3rd year students of the Three-Year LL.B. Course.

Duration:

  • One month (four weeks).
  • Internship begins on the 1st day of the month.

Application Procedure:

Applicants must submit:

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume.
  • Expression of Interest (one-page write-up).
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Dean/HoD/Internship Committee, mentioning name and semester/year.

Application Timeline:

  • The form is accessible two months before the intended internship month.
  • Selection is based on draw of lots; decisions of the Competent Authority are final.

Internship Guidelines:

  • Attendance: 90% mandatory for certificate eligibility.
  • Certificate: Awarded only upon successful completion.
  • No stipend/remuneration provided.
  • Interns must arrange their own accommodation.
  • Dress Code: Formal Black & White attire (Bar Council of Delhi guidelines).
  • Interns must carry their own laptops.
  • Discipline and etiquette are strictly enforced.

Internship Schedule:

Interns will gain exposure through:

  • Orientation on NALSA’s schemes, SOPs, and modules.
  • Visits to:
    • Legal Aid Defense Counsel Office
    • National Lok Adalat
    • Mediation Centre at the Supreme Court of India
    • Supreme Court Library
    • Supreme Court Legal Services Committee
  • Interaction with NALSA officials and group photograph at the end.
