The NLIU Legal Aid Clinic in collaboration with Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, is organising the 5th NLIU LKS Paralegal Workshop & Training Programme, 2026, aimed at strengthening practical legal skills among students. The programme features two segments: a Paralegal Training Competition and the Legal Aid Clinic Presentation, offering a platform for learning and institution-level engagement.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME:

I. Paralegal Training Competition

The competition consists of two phases:

  1. Written Submission & Shortlisting: All participating teams must submit a comprehensive legal opinion based on a provided factual matrix, ensuring high academic standards. Submissions will be shortlisted and top 16 teams will qualify for the oral rounds.
  2. Oral Rounds: Shortlisted teams will participate in simulated client-counselling sessions assessing fact-extraction, communication, and advisory skills.

Eligibility: Open to all law students of recognised institutions, only three (3) teams are allowed for each institution.

Team Composition: 2 members allowed

Registration Fee:

  • Early Bird – ₹800/team (Deadline: 8 February 2026)
  • Regular – ₹1000/team (Deadline: 12 February 2026)

Shortlisted teams will be required to pay an additional fee of ₹2500 towards accommodation and incidental expenses.

II. Legal Aid Clinic Presentation Competition

This segment provides a national platform for Legal Aid Clinics to present their best practices, innovative socio-legal initiatives, and impactful community interventions.

Participating clinics must prepare and present a structured PowerPoint presentation highlighting annual activities and outreach efforts,

Registration Fee:

  • Early Bird – ₹2500/team (Deadline: 8 February 2026)
  • Regular – ₹3200/team (Deadline: 12 February 2026)

Each Legal Aid Clinic may nominate one (1) team, represented by two presenters.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Early Bird Registration Close: February 8, 2026

Registration Closes: February 12, 2026

Release of Problem: February 13, 2026

Written Submission Deadline: February 20, 2026

Release of Shortlisted Teams: February 22, 2026

PPT Submission Deadline (for Presentation Competition): February 22, 2026

Event Dates: February 28 – March 01, 2026

Venue: National Law Institute University, Bhopal

AWARDS & OPPORTUNITIES:
