About NUSRL Ranchi:

The University hosts several specialised research centres, including the Chair for Consumer Research and Policy (CCRP).

About the Chair on Consumer Research and Policy (CCRP):

Established in October 2024 by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, CCRP promotes research, teaching, and training in consumer law.

Key Objectives:

• Acts as a think tank for consumer law and policy issues.
• Develops consumer affairs as a distinct subject at UG & PG levels.
• Protects consumer rights through awareness and grievance redressal.
• Promotes seminars, workshops, training programmes, and empirical research.
• Focuses on consumer safety against unfair trade practices and effective redressal mechanisms.

Eligibility:

Internship is open to students from recognised law and other institutions. Eligible applicants include:

• LL.B. (3‑year course): 2nd & 3rd year students.
• LL.B. (5‑year course): 2nd year onwards.
• LL.M. students.
• Students from other academic backgrounds (e.g., NIT, National Institute of Design).

Selection Process:

The internship selection follows a three‑tiered process:

1. Stage I – CV Evaluation: Screening based on academic credentials, research aptitude, and skills.
2. Stage II – Work/Draft Evaluation: Submission of research papers, drafting exercises, or design portfolios. Evaluated on originality, analytical ability, and relevance.
3. Stage III – Interview: Online/offline interview assessing subject knowledge, communication skills, and suitability.

• Shortlisted candidates must submit work samples, portfolios, and an essay on contribution to the Chair.
• Internship may be undertaken online or offline.
• Final acceptance requires:
  • Recommendation from competent authority of the academic institution (Annexure A).
  • Undertaking as per Annexure B.
