About Organizers:
The National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal, established in 1997, is one of India’s premier law schools, known for its commitment to academic excellence and innovative legal education.
In 2019, NLIU launched the Cell for Law and Technology (CLT) to address the complex intersection of law and technology. The Cell fosters dialogue, research, and academic engagement on pressing issues such as:
- Data privacy and protection
- Artificial intelligence and ethics
- Intellectual property in the digital age
- Cybersecurity and emerging technologies
One of CLT’s flagship initiatives is the NLIU Journal of Law and Technology, dedicated exclusively to exploring contemporary issues in technology law. Following the success of its inaugural edition, the Journal now invites submissions for Volume 2.
Aim of the Journal:
The Journal seeks to:
- Provide a platform for students, academicians, and professionals to contribute to technology law scholarship
- Encourage critical dialogue on emerging challenges
- Set a benchmark for academic excellence in this dynamic field
Themes & Sub‑Themes:
The Journal welcomes submissions on diverse issues at the intersection of law and technology, including but not limited to:
- Data Protection, Privacy, and Cybersecurity
- Legal & Ethical Implications of Artificial Intelligence
- Regulation of Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, and Smart Contracts
- Intellectual Property Challenges in the Digital Age
- Technology & Human Rights: Privacy, Surveillance, Freedom of Speech
- E‑Commerce and FinTech: Legal & Regulatory Frameworks
(Note: Sub‑themes are illustrative; submissions on any relevant topic are welcome.)
Categories of Submission:
- Long Articles (4000–8000 words): Comprehensive, in‑depth analysis with references and suggestions.
- Short Articles (2000–4000 words): Focused analysis of contemporary issues in technology law.
- Case Comments (1500–4000 words): Critical examination of recent judgments relevant to technology law.
- Book Reviews (1000–3000 words): Analytical reviews of recent works in technology law.
Submission Guidelines:
- Language: English only
- Abstract: Required (≤300 words) for articles; not needed for case comments/book reviews
- Co‑authorship: Allowed (maximum 2 authors)
- Formatting:
- Body: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 spacing
- Footnotes: Times New Roman, 10 pt, single spacing
- Citation Style: OSCOLA (4th Edition)
- Manuscripts must be anonymized (no author identifiers)
- Substantive footnotes are permissible
- Submissions accepted on a rolling basis; late entries considered for future volumes
Review Criteria:
- Grammar & Language: Academic tone, clarity, and precision
- Structure & Coherence: Logical flow and systematic argumentation
- Contribution to Literature: Originality and innovation beyond precedents
- Contemporary Relevance: Legal or socio‑economic significance in current context
- Referencing & Research: Quality and credibility of sources; balanced citation
Important Deadline:
- Final Submission: On or before 18 January 2026, 11:59 PM
