About the Competition:

The 10th C.L. Agrawal Memorial National Moot Court Competition, 2026 is organized in collaboration with Rajasthan Education Trust, Jaipur, chaired by Hon’ble Justice S.C. Agrawal (Former Judge, Supreme Court of India).

  • Inspired by Late Shri C.L. Agrawal’s contributions to law, education, and philanthropy.
  • Mentored by Hon’ble Justice V.S. Dave and supported by Hon’ble Dr. Justice Meena V. Gomber (Former Judge, Rajasthan High Court).
  • Aims to provide law students with exposure to real courtroom environments, advocacy training, and jurisprudential development.

Moot Proposition Highlights:

Case Title: State of Bundel Pradesh & Ors. v. Ishan Kairo & Ors.

  • Concerns AI-driven immersive gaming leading to real-world harm.
  • Issues before the Supreme Court of Indiana include:
    1. Sustainability of murder conviction when accused believed he was in a simulated environment.
    2. Whether ₹1 crore reward amounted to inducement/abetment.
    3. Liability of foreign gaming companies for autonomous AI actions.
    4. Compliance with constitutional data protection frameworks.
    5. Validity of High Court’s decision setting aside conviction, ban, and compensation.

Event Schedule:

  • 13th March 2026: Orientation, draw of lots, and memorial exchange.
  • 14th – 15th March 2026: Preliminary rounds, Octa-finals, Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, and Final.

Eligibility & Team Composition:

  • Open to bonafide students of 3-year and 5-year law programs in India.
  • Each team: 2 speakers + 1 researcher (observer allowed).
  • Team codes allotted; institutional identity must remain undisclosed during proceedings.

Registration Details:

  • Fee: ₹4500 per team (non-refundable).
  • Observer charges: ₹800 per day.
  • Deadline: 25th February 2026.
