Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, is a premier State University established under the HNLU Chhattisgarh Act, 2003 (No. 10 of 2003) and recognized by the UGC under Sections 2(f) and 12B of the UGC Act, 1956.

Position Details:

• Post: IPR Chair Professor
• Scheme: Scheme for Pedagogy & Research in IPRs for Holistic Education & Academia (SPRIHA)
• Funding Agency: Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India
• Nature of Appointment: Contractual
• Emoluments: ₹1,50,000 per month (consolidated)

Project Background:

The appointment is part of the National IPR Policy (2016) mandate to enhance awareness of the economic, social, and cultural benefits of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs). The scheme is implemented through CIPAM (Cell for IPR Promotion and Management) under DPIIT, focusing on outreach activities such as workshops, seminars, competitions, and online programs for academia, industry, enforcement agencies, and the judiciary.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must satisfy one of the following:

1. Academic Route: Served as, or eligible to serve as, a Professor/Associate Professor under UGC norms, with substantial teaching and research experience in IPR.
2. Professional Route: Practicing IP attorney with at least 10 years of professional experience, or any professional with significant recognition and no less than 10 years of experience in IPR.
3. Government Route: Retired official of the IP Office under CGPDTM, holding a doctorate degree, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience at Level 12 or above (e.g., Controller of Patents & Designs, Registrar of Trademarks & Geographical Indications, Registrar of Copyrights).

Age Limit: Individuals above 70 years are not eligible.
Tenure: Up to 5 years from the date of appointment.

Essential Conditions:

• Preference for candidates with experience in National Level Higher Educational Institutions.
• Mandatory submission of documentary proof (scanned originals) for all claims.
• Employed candidates must submit No‑Objection Certificate and Experience Certificate from employer.
• HNLU is a residential university; employees are required to reside on campus unless exempted.
• Canvassing or lobbying will lead to disqualification.
• The University reserves the right to:
  • Appoint an internal faculty if no suitable candidate is found.
  • Cancel the advertisement without assigning reasons.
