About the Conference

The conference will critically examine India’s legal, regulatory, economic, and policy framework for rare diseases and orphan drugs. Using Public Choice Theory, it will explore how political incentives, institutional interests, regulatory mechanisms, lobbying, rent‑seeking, and market failures shape pharmaceutical development and healthcare regulation.

This academic platform will bring together perspectives from law, economics, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and policy to promote informed discussions on innovation, regulation, and equitable access to orphan medicines.
