Position

Duration
- Initial term: 1 year.
- Extension: Possible based on performance and requirement.
- Termination: One month’s notice or one month’s pay in lieu.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide legal analysis and advisory support on private international law matters.
- Interpret and align Indian laws with HCCH and UNIDROIT conventions.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating treaty texts, protocols, and declarations.
- Prepare legal briefs, background notes, and talking points for negotiations.
- Monitor international legal developments and assess implications for India.
- Conduct comparative legal research on treaty implementation and compliance.
- Support inter-ministerial coordination for coherence in India’s treaty obligations.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Indian.
- Education: Postgraduate degree (LL.M.) in International Law from a recognized institution (India or abroad).
- Specialization: Preference for Conflict of Laws/Private International Law.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of work experience; must be a registered law practitioner in India.
- Age: 25–35 years (as of last date of application).
- Desirable: Prior work experience in Government of India.
Remuneration
- Up to ₹10,00,000 per annum (subject to taxes).
- Strictly contractual; no benefits like PF, pension, gratuity, or HRA.
- Full-time engagement (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday).
- Paid leave: 1.5 days per month (max 10 days at a time).
