Established in 2008, NLU Delhi is one of India’s foremost institutions for legal education and research. The Centre for Law and Urban Development is dedicated to exploring legal issues in urbanisation, infrastructure, and regulatory governance. It bridges law, policy, and industry practice through lectures, workshops, and certificate programmes. CLUD has undertaken significant projects, including an ICSSR‑funded study on Smart Cities and drafting the Model Rural Transformation Bill for the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. Its mission is to build institutional capacity and promote specialised legal education in areas of professional relevance.
Founded in 2016 and affiliated with the Society of Construction Law UK, SCL‑India promotes education, study, and research in construction law. It provides a forum for discourse on policy, legislation, dispute avoidance, and resolution. Through MoUs with institutions, it advances construction law education via joint courses, seminars, curriculum design, and collaborative research.
This certificate course is a joint initiative of CLUD and SCL‑India, undertaken under their Memorandum of Understanding. The collaboration aims to strengthen academic engagement and capacity‑building in construction law through teaching, research, and industry interaction.
