Building on the success of its debut, DNLU Jabalpur proudly presents the second edition of its flagship academic & cultural fest – REVĀ.

The name REVĀ embodies the essence of Jabalpur:

  • Derived from Sanskrit, symbolizing motion, agility, and dynamism.
  • Another name for the River Narmada, a defining feature of Jabalpur.
  • A revered Raag in Indian music, reflecting cultural vibrancy.

REVĀ is more than a competition – it’s a celebration of law, culture, and camaraderie, featuring moot rounds, concerts, quizzes, and performances.

About the Competition:

The REVĀ National Moot Court Competition 2026 is designed to simulate real courtroom proceedings, offering law students a platform to:

  • Develop advocacy skills and legal acumen.
  • Prepare memorials and written submissions.
  • Argue before panels of distinguished judges, practitioners, and academics.
  • Gain experience in teamwork, time management, and communication.

It is both an academic challenge and a networking opportunity, inspiring participants to become conscientious legal professionals.

Moot Proposition Highlights:

The problem revolves around consensual adolescent relationships and the constitutional validity of Section 12A of the POCSO (Amendment) Act, 2026, which introduces a close-in-age exemption.

Key Issues:

  1. Whether FIRs under BNS, 2023 & POCSO Act, 2012 can be quashed given the consensual nature of the relationship.
  2. Whether the High Court can grant protection or permit marriage of minors under the best interests of the child principle.
  3. Whether Section 12A of the POCSO Act (close-in-age exemption) is constitutional.

Rules & Eligibility:

  • Dates: 11–13 April 2026
  • Language: English
  • Eligibility: Students pursuing 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programs in India
  • Team Composition: 2–3 members (max two teams per institution)
  • Dress Code: Formal courtroom attire (Black & White)

Registration & Fees:

  • Round-I: INR 1000 per team
  • Round-II: INR 800 per person (without accommodation) | INR 1500 per person (with accommodation & food)
  • Provisional Registration: Email MCC at mcc@mpdnlu.ac.in
  • Final Registration: Google Form
  • Payment: Online via

Competition Format:

  • Round-I: Memorial Qualification (16 teams selected)
  • Round-II: Offline rounds at DNLU Jabalpur
    • Preliminary Rounds
    • Semi-Finals
    • Finals

Memorial Guidelines:

  • Blue cover (Appellant), Red cover (Respondent)
  • Max 32 pages per side
  • Citation: Bluebook (20th Ed.)
  • Strict anonymity rules apply

Oral Pleadings:

  • Preliminary Rounds: 30 minutes per team
  • Semi-Finals & Finals: 60 minutes per team
  • Rebuttals allowed within time limits
