The Moot Society of Sri Lanka Law College is honoured to invite law schools and universities worldwide to participate in The 9th Victor’s Moot – H V Perera QC Memorial International Moot Competition 2026.

Sri Lanka Law College, functioning under the Incorporated Council of Legal Education (Ordinance No. 2 of 1900), administers legal education for those aspiring to join the Bar of Sri Lanka.

The Moot Society, a distinguished student-led organisation, has produced many accredited mooties and lawyers. With a reputation for excellence, it proudly announces the 9th Victor’s Moot as its flagship initiative, continuing the tradition of hosting top-tier international advocacy contests.


About the Victor’s Moot:

Recognised as Sri Lanka’s most distinguished International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition, The Victor’s Moot offers an unparalleled platform for aspiring advocates.

  • Sharpen advocacy, research, and dispute resolution skills

Competition Details:

  • Dates:
    • 20th June 2026 (Virtual Format)
    • 18th & 19th July 2026 (Physical Format)
  • Rounds:
    • Two Virtual Preliminary Rounds (each team argues as Claimant & Respondent)
    • Quarter Final Round (Knock-out format)
    • Plate Semi-Final Round (for teams eliminated in Quarter Finals)
    • Plate Final Round (Knock-out format)
    • Semi-Final Rounds (Top 4 teams, Knock-out format)
    • Bronze Finals Round (to determine 3rd & 4th place)
    • Final Round (Knock-out format, judged by an esteemed panel of arbitrators)

Registration Process:

  1. Application Submission – Deadline: 10th March 2025
  2. Selection Announcement – Shortlisted teams notified
  3. Qualified Teams Registration – Confirm participation

Selection is based on achievements and experience in prior mooting competitions.


Moot Problem 2026:

This year’s problem involves a multi-tiered dispute resolution concerning a multi-million dollar international land reclamation investment project halted by a new government order.
