About Chanakya National Law University:

Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), established under the Bihar Act No. 24 of 2006, is accredited by NAAC, recognized by UGC, and registered with the Bar Council of India. About Moot Court Committee:

The Moot Court Committee (MCC) is a student‑led body working closely with the administration. It organizes:

  • Freshers Moot (for novice students)
  • General Intra Moot (for allotment of national moots)
  • Special Intra Moot (for allotment of international moots)

Currently led by Mr. Shalin Kumar and Ms. Kopal Bhatnagar, the committee has successfully hosted national and international competitions.


About the Competition:

CNLU proudly announces the Fourth Edition of the Cyber Law National Moot Court Competition, 2026, in association with J. Sagar Associates.

  • Focus: Research and advocacy in Cyber Law.
  • Objective: To strengthen legal infrastructure in cyberspace and prepare young lawyers for industry challenges.
  • Format: Two stages — Memorial Qualifier Round (Stage I) and Oral Rounds (Stage II).

Moot Proposition Drafter:

The proposition is authored by Dr. Ashok Wadje, Associate Professor of Law at MNLU Aurangabad, with over 40 publications in national and international journals. He is a distinguished researcher pursuing advanced studies in Cyber Law.


Key Rules & Structure:

  • Dates:
    • Inaugural Ceremony & Researcher’s Test: 3 April 2026
    • Preliminary Rounds: 4 April 2026
    • Semi‑Finals & Finals: 5 April 2026
  • Eligibility:
    • Open to 3‑year LL.B. and 5‑year integrated law students.
    • Maximum 3 teams per institution.
    • Post‑graduate/diploma students not eligible.
  • Team Composition:
    • 2–3 members (2 speakers + 1 researcher).
    • Substitution only in extenuating circumstances with OC approval.
  • Memorials:
    • Two memorials (Petitioner & Respondent).
    • Submission deadline: 15 March 2026 (soft copy), 3 April 2026 (hard copy).
    • Strict formatting: Times New Roman, Bluebook citation, 45‑page limit.
    • Evaluation: 100 marks (facts, reasoning, law application, precedents, formatting).
  • Oral Rounds:
    • Preliminary: 30 minutes per team.
    • Semi‑Finals: 45 minutes per team.
    • Finals: 50 minutes per team.
    • Scoring based on knowledge, application, ingenuity, advocacy, and court craft.

Awards & Prizes:

  • Winner Team: ₹75,000 + Internship at J. Sagar Associates + SCC Online subscription + Mentblue course + CV review.
  • Runner‑Up: ₹45,000.
  • Best Student Advocate: ₹15,000 + Mentblue Certificate Course.
  • Best Memorial (Applicant & Respondent): ₹15,000 each.
  • Best Researcher: ₹15,000.
  • Total Prize Pool: ₹1,80,000.

All participants receive certificates and 1‑month SCC Online access. Stage II qualifiers get 25% discount on Mentblue courses.

  • 08 Feb 2026 – Release of Moot Proposition
  • 20 Feb 2026 – Last date for clarifications
  • 28 Feb 2026 – Registration closes
  • 25 Feb 2026 – Clarifications released
  • 15 Mar 2026 – Soft copy memorial submission deadline
  • 22 Mar 2026 – Stage I results
  • 03 Apr 2026 – Inaugural Ceremony & Researcher’s Test
  • 04 Apr 2026 – Preliminary Rounds
  • 05 Apr 2026 – Semi‑Finals, Finals & Valedictory
