Moot Court Competition by Mar Gregorios College of Law, Thiruvananthapuram. (Prizes worth Rs. 1,00,000/-). Last Date to Register: 15th November 2025.

About the Organizers:

Nestled in the picturesque environs of Mar Ivanios Vidya Nagar, Mar Gregorios College of Law (MGCL) is an inclusive and vibrant institution that aspires to be a wellspring of academic excellence in legal education. Established in 2012, the college builds upon the proud legacy of the campus founded in 1949 by Archbishop Geevarghese Mar Ivanios, and was conceived under the leadership of His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos, head of the Malankara Catholic Church. Named after Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios—a profound humanist, linguist, economist, and educationalist—the college embodies his spirit of compassion and intellectual pursuit. In just over a decade, MGCL has evolved into a centre of excellence, becoming Kerala’s first NAAC-accredited law college, offering five-year integrated B.A. LL.B., B.B.A. LL.B., and B.Com. LL.B. programs at the undergraduate level, along with specialized LL.M. courses in Constitutional Law and Maritime Law. Honoured with accolades such as the SILF-MILAT National Institutional Excellence Award, the institution takes pride not only in its achievements but in shaping bright legal minds, fostering creativity, and nurturing holistic growth beyond academics.

About the Competition:

The Mar Gregorios National Moot Court Competition has quickly established itself as a premier platform for budding advocates. Its first edition (Jan 25–27, 2024) focused on the constitutional and legal rights of the LGBTQIA+ community in domestic settings, with the finals presided over by three Honourable Judges of the High Court of Kerala. The second edition (Jan 9–11, 2025) was conducted in a hybrid format, addressing issues under the new criminal laws and constitutional law, and was inaugurated by former Chief Justice of India, Justice U.U. Lalit. As we now prepare for the third edition in 2026, the competition promises a thought‑provoking problem, distinguished judges, and an engaging atmosphere, offering participants a valuable opportunity to sharpen their legal reasoning, advocacy, and courtroom skills while contributing to the spirit of justice and debate.
