IMS Law College, Noida: Established in 2004, in Sector-62, Noida, IMS Law College, Noida runs under the auspices of IMS Society, a non-profit making body. IMS Law College is the first college in Noida to start B.A., LL.B 5 Years integrated course. The College is approved by Bar Council of India, recognized by University Grant Commission(UGC) and affiliated to the Chaudhary Charan Singh University Meerut.
Human Rights Initiative: It is a great initiative taken by students of IMS Law Collge, Noida to promote the basic ideologies of human rights. This has been working in the College very effectively with the graces of President, IMS: Sh. Rajeev Kumar Gupta: President IMS.
About the International Webinar
IMS Human Rights Initiative of IMS Law College, Noida in association with Jus Corpus is organising an International Webinar on 18th August 2020 at 5.30 PM.
The topic for the Webinar is “Human Rights and State Responsibility”.
About the Speaker
The eminent Speaker of this webinar is Mr. Peter Mohan Maithree Peiris, who served as the Attorney General of Sri Lanka from 2008 to 2011 and was the Chief Justice of Sri Lanka from 2013 to 2015. He was educated at St. Joseph’s College, Colombo and Royal College, Colombo. He was called to the bar on 19 June 1975 and became a Solicitor of the Courts of England and Wales in 1978.
Mr. Peiris joined the Attorney General’s Department in 1981 as a state counsel, later becoming a senior state counsel. During this time he was trained at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy of the Harvard Law School, at the Centre for Police and Criminal Justice Studies of the Jesus College, Cambridge and at George Washington University.

The competition will take place through different online mediums, primarily through an online video meeting platform.
