In simple terms, Legal Design is a movement to make law more accessible, more usable, and more engaging. Legal design embraces but goes beyond technology. Customers and businesses often are frustrated when confronted with texts in legalese that pave the way to loopholes, confusion and litigation. Legal design is used to make things simpler, with better documents, products, services, organisations, or policies.

Legal Design Thinking is suitable for all areas of the Legal industry: law firms, legal teams and legal tech companies. To develop a Legal Design Mindset, legal professionals need to adopt a designers’ mindset to gain a deeper understanding of their clients’ needs – both immediate and future.

The benefits of using legal design thinking

  • It aims to give the user of law, the best user experience (UX), so that law
and the legal system are not – as so often – perceived as an obstacle or
    hurdle.
  • Develop user-centric solutions and innovations that serve a real need – whether
    analogue or digital.
  • Prototypes of ideas are more easily developed and quickly tested
  • Feedback on whether an idea meets the needs of the user or needs to be re-adapted
    is much easier

Why Should You Participate

  • Learn how to adopt a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to communicating
    legal concepts.
