The Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur, established IN 2018 by Madhya Pradesh Dharmashastra National Law University Act No. 24 of 2018. DNLU is inviting applications for the admission in Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) for the Academic Year 2023 in the subjects of Law, Political Science, Economics and English.
What Is The Eligibility Criteria For Admission To Ph.D. Programme In Law?
For the Ph.D. Programme in Law:
- Master’s Degree in Law with at least 55% aggregate; or an equivalent grade point from an Indian University recognised by UGC; or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
- Candidates who have completed the M.Phil. programme in Law with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
Note: Number of seats for admission will be decided based on the suitability of the candidates and the total number of available seats in the University based on the vacancies with the eligible faculty supervisors.
What Is The Application Process?
- Application Form: Submit form online by CLICK HERE OR It can be filled in hardcopy form by CLICK HERE and form has be to submitted with the required documents by CLICK HERE.
- Application Fee: An amount of Rs.3,000/- shall be charged as application fees from the candidates applying for admission (Rs.1500/- in case of SC/ST). The application fee must be paid online to the account of the University.

- The University shall conduct a ‘DNLU National Level Entrance Test – DNLET’ for enrolment of candidates to the Ph.D. programme.
Note: a) On the cover of application kindly write “Application for Admission to Ph.D. Degree 2023.
b) Junior Research Fellow (JRF) awardee of the University Grants Commission (UGC) in the relevant subject shall be exempted from the DNLET and the candidate shall directly appear for the interview. A candidate who is only a UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) qualified in the relevant subject shall not be exempted from the DNLET.
