Nari Gursahani Law College, named after the legendary Supreme Court advocate and humanist, is popularly known as NGLC. Established in 2004, the College has been imparting quality legal education to the students in Ulhasnagar and its vicinity. The College is affiliated with the University of Mumbai; approved by the Bar Council of India and recognized by the Government of Maharashtra.

About the Law Fest

The Inaugural Session of the 12th Nari Gursahani Fest will be held in the 2nd/3rd week of September. The date
and time shall be notified to the registered participants. It shall be online.

This year the Competition event is research paper writing, in order to motivate and inculcate research skills in law students.

Eligibility

Full-time bonafide students of all UG and PG Law Courses are eligible to participate.

Rules of the Competition

  • Every participating institution will send only 1 research paper, written in English, on any one of the given topics:
    • COVID claims and Law of International Responsibility
    • Imprisonment and Recidivism
    • Re-visiting Lalita Kumari v State of UP (AIR 2014 SC 187)
    • Policing what women wear speaks of a toxic culture
    • Using TRIPS Flexibilities to safeguard Indian healthcare
  • A minimum of 15 participants will be necessary to qualify for judging. And the maximum will be 20 papers.
  • The Paper should not exceed 3000 words, excluding footnotes, references/bibliography.
  • Footnotes must be on the same page and references/bibliography at the end of the Paper.
  • The Paper should be typed in Times New Roman, font size 12, single space on A4 size paper.
  • It should be the author’s own contribution. The College will not be responsible/liable for any copyright infringement.
  • Co-authored papers will not be accepted.

How to Submit?

The last date for submission is August 31, 2021.

How to Register?

The participants shall register on or before 20th August 2021 through the link given at the end of this post.

There is no registration fee.

Results and Awards

  • Cash prizes and merit certificates will be awarded to the authors of the first three best research papers. Others will be awarded Participation Certificates.
  • Decision of the judge/s shall be final and binding.
  • It will be endeavoured to declare the result at the conclusion of the Inaugural Session of the Fest in the second/third week of September.

It will be mandatory for all the registered participants to attend the Inaugural Session, failing which they will not qualify for cash prizes and certificates.
