About the Speakers

Mr. Alok Prasanna Kumar is Senior Resident Fellow and Team Lead, Vidhi Karnataka. His areas of research include Judicial Reforms, Constitutional law, Urban Development, and Law and Technology. He graduated with a B.A. LL.B. (Hons) from the NALSAR University in 2008 and obtained the BCL from the University of Oxford in 2009.

He writes a monthly column for the Economic and Political Weekly and has published in the Indian Journal of Constitutional Law and National Law School of India Review apart from media outlets such as The Hindu, Indian Express, Scroll, Quint and Caravan. He has practiced in the Supreme Court and Delhi High Court from the chambers of Mr Mohan Parasaran, and currently also co-hosts the Ganatantra podcast on IVM Podcasts.

Dr. Amit George practices before the High Court of Delhi and has a commercial-law centric practice. He obtained the B.A, LL.B (Hons.) degree from the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad in the year 2009, and went on to secure an LL.M. (with Merit) degree from the University of London International Programmes with a specialization in International Dispute Resolution. He was awarded the degree of PhD in Law by the National Law University, Delhi in the year 2015.

Dr. George is the author of the book titled ‘Minority Rights in a Cosmopolitan World’ [Media House: 2018], and frequently contributes opinion pieces and articles on issues of contemporary legal relevance. He has also held guest lectures at the National Law University, Delhi, the Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi, the Jindal Global Law School, Sonipat and the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussorie.
