Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Mumbai is one of the premier national law schools located in the economic capital of India. It offers graduate, post graduate and research degrees in law and allied disciplines. MNLU Mumbai has set up Centre for Research in IP among ten centres for legal research. MNLU Mumbai has also been granted DPIIT IPR Chair under the Scheme for Pedagogy and Research in IPRs for Holistic Education and Academia (SPRIHA) of the Government of India.
The Centre for Research in Intellectual Property (CRIP) is the focus of Intellectual Property research at the Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai. The main objective of the Centre is to lead research and promote well-informed interdisciplinary work in the area of intellectual property law, policy and practice through rigorous academic research, the presence of high-quality researchers and conducting seminars, workshops and conferences. The Centre aims to bring together a group of legal academics, policymakers and industrial experts already recognised for their historical and inter-disciplinary vigour. Through its activities, the centre aims to promote the understanding and critical appraisal of the important fields of IP law.
As India is one of the rapidly growing economies in the world and plays a major role in IPR on theglobal IPR platform, it is necessary to develop an efficient IPR regime in the country which will result in building a strong IPR profile for the stakeholders and, in turn, for the country that will strengthen “Make In India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” in the long run. In view of this, DPIIT IPR Chair and CRIP, MNLU Mumbai are organizing the comprehensive and compact “One Week Online Certificate Course on Patenting System &Procedures”.
