About the Organizer

Jagran Lakecity University is located in Bhopal and is a full government-approved Private
the university established by Government of Madhya Pradesh by Act No 22 of 2013 and
is recognized by UGC under section 2 of Act, 1956.

Centre for Sports Law, Policy & Research and Centre for Business and Intellectual
Property Laws were established at JLU School of Law with an objective to
conduct and promote research in the area of Sports Law, Business Law and
Intellectual Property Laws.

The National Law
Institute University (NLIU) has been established by Act No. 41 of 1997 of the
Madhya Pradesh Legislature to fill the gap and providing most modern legal
education through multidisciplinary teaching and training of newer skills
needed for the profession.

About the Seminar

Sport has changed its identity from a leisure activity to a profession in the
contemporary world. It is being pursued as a career and many successful events,
series and brands are created in the sports world. There is tremendous
commercial opportunity in the world of sports which also provides
employment to many. Accordingly there is a need for involvement of exclusive
law to govern its multiple dimensions keeping in mind the peculiarity of
interests of all stakeholders. The Centre for Sports Law, Policy & Research
through the “National E-Seminar on Issues and Challenges in Laws relating to
Sports in India” proposes to provide a common platform for legal experts,
academicians, researchers and students to bring out, discuss and deliberate on
contemporary issues in law relating to sports and possible solutions for the
resolutions of the same.

Eligibility
Faculty Member, Research Scholar, Industry Expert and Student at any Law and Sports University/College/Sports Organization are eligible to participate.

1.    Constitutional Dimensions and Sports Law

2.     Issues in Sports Contracts

3.    Dispute Resolution Mechanism of Sports issues

4.     Ethical Issues in Sports

5.     Sports & Intellectual Property Rights

6.     Sports & Criminal Law

The above-mentioned themes are not exhaustive in nature. Authors may choose a topic which is in line with the theme of the seminar.
