The e-conference is being organised by University School of Law and Legal Studies (USLLS) one of the 12 Schools of Studies of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in its Dwarka Campus, New Delhi. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is one of the five state universities of Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi established on 28 July 1998. It is an UGC recognized and NAAC accredited ‘A’ Grade University. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has been imparting professional education leading to Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral research degrees in the emerging fields of Management, Environmental Management, Biotechnology, Medicine, Pharmacy, Law and Legal Studies and Education

ABOUT THIS e-CONFERENCE

A two-day e-conference on “Life, Livelihood and Rights of Indigenous People and Traditional Knowledge” is being organised by the University School of Law and Legal Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, India on 08 & 09- August-2020 to commemorate International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples 2020, which falls on the 9 August. This day is celebrated in recognition of the first meeting of the UN Working Group on Indigenous Populations held in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1982..

e-CONFERENCE REGISTRATION

This is purely an interest based, anthropological, professional and academic event for the anthropologists and sociologists. We welcome enthusiastic participation of the young students, research scholars, activists and academic faculties involved in research, training, teaching, skill-building, advocating the rights of indigenous tribes and communities. There shall not be any fee for this conference. This event is Participation in this e-conference is through invitation only. Interested participants may register as per the timeline; the organizing committee shall screen and send invitation link through certain priorities and interest. Such entry shall be first come, first serve basis.

e-Conference Objective:

  • To commemorate the lives and rights of indigenous communities across the globe
  • To raise awareness among budding anthropologists, young activists and researchers on the burning issues and needs of indigenous people
  • To celebrate the art, culture, artefacts, life, knowledge of indigenous communities Main attractions of the two-Day Event We are attempting to connect to various researchers, scholars and academics and invite speakers to deliberate their research findings, air their experience and views on whatever they think important on the issues of indigenous communities. This is a flexible platform of opportunities inviting contributions from across the globe to make this event memorable, colourful and attractive. At this point we welcome and open to all kinds of presentations. The unique attractions of this event are:
  • Presentations on research findings on the life, livelihood, Art, Culture of Indigenous communities
  • Technical presentations on the evidences of atrocities, violation of Human Rights of indigenous people
  • e-Painting Competition for students/ scholars – on art, artifacts, paintings, murals, etc
  • Exhibition of Videos and visuals from repositories and web-collections viz. songs, life events, glimpses of farming practices, marriage, unique traditions, video spots, press clipping, etc.
