With offices in Washington, DC, and Geneva, Switzerland, CIEL’s team of attorneys, policy experts, and support staff works to provide legal counsel and advocacy, policy research, and capacity building across our three program areas: Climate & Energy, Environmental Health, and People, Land, & Resources.

What Are The Details Of The Opportunity?

  • Roles and Responsibilities: Interns day-to-day responsibilities include:
    • Researching and writing about areas of domestic and international law.
    • Work on environmental and human rights law, international investment law, and international trade law and policy.
    • Assisting with policy analysis and advocacy.
    • Attending meetings and conferences.
    • Assisting with the production of CIEL publications, legal opinions and legal briefs.
    • Assisting with the production of CIEL publications.
    • Legal opinions and legal briefs.
    • Support in the preparation of amicus curiae before international tribunals and otherwise working closely with CIEL staff on various projects.
  • Eligibility: Those students are eligible who are pursuing LLM
  • Mode of Internship: Physical (offline).
  • Duration: 12-24 weeks.
  • Perks: Certificate of appreciation after the completion of the Internship.
  • Stipend: Rs.2,660/-per month.

  • Requirements:
    • Applicants must be enrolled in a course of study leading to an LLM degree or similar legal professional qualification for the duration of the internship.  We cannot accept recent graduates.
    • Applicants are required to be available between a minimum of 12 weeks to a maximum of 24 weeks, for at least 24 hours/week.
