Qualifications and Experience Required
- A Master’s degree in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian institution with 55 percent marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is used),
- or an equivalent degree from an accredited international university.
ii) In addition to meeting the above requirements, the candidate must have passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) administered by the University Grants Commission or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, such as SLET/SET, or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from
: Provided, however, that candidates who applied for a Ph.D. programme before to July 11, 2009, are subject to the terms of the then-current Ordinance. Bye-laws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree, and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempt from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions, subject to the fulfilment of the following criteria.
a) The candidate’s Ph.D. degree was conferred in a traditional manner. b) At least two external examiners have reviewed the Ph.D. thesis.
c) The candidate has had an open Ph.D. viva voce; d) The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, at least one of which is in a refereed publication;
The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his or her Ph.D. work at conferences/seminars sponsored, funded, or supported by the UGC, ICSSR, CSIR, or any other equivalent organisation.
The Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University involved must certify that these prerequisites have been met. Note that the UGC, CSIR, or any other UGC-accredited test, such as SLET/SET, does not conduct NET/SLET/SET.

The Ph.D. degree was earned from a foreign university/institution that is ranked among the top 500 universities in the world (at any time by any of the following: Quacquarelli Symonds I (QS) (ii) Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU)
Interested candidates should appear for the interview on 02-12-2021 in the NUALS Administrative Office with original certificates and a completed application in the required format.
