What Is Nirma University?

Nirma University was established in the year 2003 and is a research-oriented, student-centric, multidisciplinary, not-for-profit state private university. The university received NAAC A+ grade in its third cycle of accreditation in 2022. It is also awarded the Centre of Excellence (COE) status by The Government of Gujarat recently. The constituent institutes, departments and centres facilitate the all-round development of the students. The Institute of Law, Nirma University is organising the second edition of the International Conference on Right to Equality, Contemporary Challenges on March 15 and 16, 2024 in a hybrid mode at Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad.

  • Eligibility: The conference is open to Academicians, Practitioners, Law students and students of Politics and Social Sciences.
  • Mode: The Conference will be held in a hybrid mode. The participants may participate either in the online or offline mode. 
  • Registration Fee:
    • Academicians/Professionals: Rs 3,000 for single Author/two Authors
    • Foreign Academicians/Professionals: 80 USD for single Author/two Authors
    • Scholars/Research/Students: Rs1,500 for single Author/ Rs 2,000 for two Authors
    • For Foreign Scholars/Research/Students: 40 USD
    • Faculty (Nirma University): Rs 1,000 for single/Rs 1,500 for two Authors
    • Research/Scholars & Students (Nirma University): Rs 500 for single Author/ Rs 700 for two Authors
    • NOTE: The University shall provide accommodation, on request for which separate payment has to be made.
  • Submission Categories:
    • Long Articles (4000 to 7000 words): The article must be a comprehensive and indepth analysis of a contemporary issue of the theme and should include references to a range of sources and contributions in the form of alternatives and suggestions.
    • Short Articles (2000 to 4000 words): The article must be an analysis of a contemporary issue of the theme and should include a reference to a range of sources and contributions in the form of alternatives and suggestions.
    • Case Comments (2000 – 4000 words): The comment must be an analysis of a recent judgment, bringing out its relevance in light of the development of right to equality, views expressed in the judgment and the opinion(s) of the author(s).
    • Legislative Comments (2000 – 4000 words): The comment must be a critical analysis of a recent amendment, legislative report, notification, or a new enactment pertaining to right to equality, and must include the views of the author(s).
    • NOTE: The word limit is exclusive of the abstract and the footnotes. The prescribed word limit may be relaxed up to 10%, at the discretion of the Editorial Board.
  • Submission Guidelines:
    • The title must be Times New Roman, Font Size 14, in CAPITALS, Bold, aligned CENTRE;
    • The body of the manuscript should be in Times New Roman, Font Size 12, and 1.5-line spacing, automatic spacing between paragraphs and aligned JUSTIFIED;
    • The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, Font Size 10, single line spacing and aligned JUSTIFIED;
    • A margin of 1 inch shall be left on all sides.
