Millions of individuals around the world have been affected by climate change. Many of the negative consequences of climate change, on the other hand, have disproportionately impacted people who are socially and economically poor. Climate change has been linked to negative health outcomes, such as higher mortality and illnesses, according to evidence.
This webinar will look at and analyse current trends in environmental and climate justice, as well as their implications for the challenges and concerns outlined above.
Regarding the Speaker
- As a lawyer, mediator, and arbitrator, William Patrick McPhilamy, III works in the legal services industry. He has over 28 years of experience in dispute resolution and alternative dispute resolution at his firm, the Law and Mediation Office of W. Patrick McPhilamy, III, in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area.
- Civil, commercial, corporate, and intellectual property law are among his areas of practise. He is a chartered arbitrator and an accredited mediator. He is ADR ODR International’s California Resident Representative. He is a member of the Bali International Arbitration and Mediation Center, Prime Dispute, and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, respectively, as a Senior Fellow, Fellow, and Member.
- He has previously judged or served as an expert evaluator for a number of mediation, arbitration, and negotiation competitions in the United States and abroad, including those sponsored by the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, ADR ODR International, MediateGuru, and a number of law schools and organisations in the United States and abroad.
- He has a Harvard Business School Online Certificate in Negotiation Mastery and a Harvard Law School Certificate in Mediation and Conflict Management. He also works for Arbitrator Intelligence as an Ambassador. He has also served on and continues to work with the boards of directors of a number of organisations, both for-profit and non-profit, both in the United States and internationally.
- He received his education in the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, and China, obtaining a Master of Laws from Cambridge University, a Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Commonwealth University. He also received a diploma from the Institute of International and Comparative Law in London, which is run by the University of San Diego School of Law; and he studied law for a summer at the University of Oxford, as well as languages for several years in the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, and China.
- He volunteers with groups dedicated to the eradication of severe poverty and hunger assistance in his spare time.
