What Is Shimla Law Review, HPNLU, Shimla?

Shimla Law Review (SLR) is the flagship  publication of the University published both in the print and electronic format. Shimla Law Review is envisioned to be an annual publication, owned and published by HPNLU, Shimla. The Review is intended to provide a forum for faculty members, research scholars, judges, and students. It is not confined to the discipline of law but allows the contributors to take a call on the age-old tradition of legal scholarship. The SLR is also included in the list of journals published by the UGC Consortium for Academic Research and Ethics (UGC-CARE). The Review encourages submissions related to multiple themes and diverse fields in law.

What Are The Details Of The Opportunity?

  • Theme: There is no specific or particular theme(s) or topic(s) for the Volume. All submissions, relating to law, directly or otherwise, are welcome.
  • Last date of submission:30th May 2023
  • Categories of submission (with word limit): Articles – 7000-12000 Words, Case Comments – 4000-8000 Words, Notes or Legislative Review – 5000-8000 Words, Book Reviews – 1500-3000 Words
  • Submission Guidelines:
  1. All submission in electronic form: All contributions have to be submitted in electronic form. The manuscript should be typed in MS Office double spaced, with a left margin of one and half inches, and sent to: editorslr@hpnlu.ac.in.
  2. Abstract: Abstract of the paper in 250-300 words should be sent along with the electronic submissions.
  3. Covering Letter: Author(s) must send a covering letter mentioning the title of the paper, name, designation, and details of the author(s) as well as institutional affiliation. The author(s) are compulsorily required to make a solemn declaration about the originality of the manuscript and that the same has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
  4. Communication of Acceptance: The decision on the acceptance of the paper for publication will be that of the Editorial Board, which shall be final. The communication shall be made electronically. The Editorial Board reserves the right of publication and a manuscript maybe rejected from publication in the final stage(s).
