The University Grants Commission (UGC) has established in November 1956 by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, as a statutory body of the Government of India through an Act of Parliament for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education in India.
What Are The Details Of The UGC Notification?
On 6th March 2023, UGC released a Public Notice related to eligibility for promotion under CAS in terms of guiding Ph.D. Scholar after receiving several queries related to the terms of eligibility criteria for guiding Ph.D. scholars, from various Universities/Stakeholders. UGC announced in its 565th meeting held on 20th Jan. 2023 that ‘Eligible Permanent Faculties Members can guide PhD. scholars during their probation period also’.
