Last date for applying online in the Ministry:

16th Sentember. 2016 (till 3:00 PM)

Online application is invited from Indian national to apply for ‘2017 COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIP TENABLE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM’ for Master’s & Doctoral degree programme. The study will commence in September/October 2017 .

Number of nomination and award:

Nomination: In total maximum 65 candidates would be nominated for this scholarship, which includes 26 nomination for PhD.

Award: The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) would make the final selection from the nominated candidates. About 25 to 30 candidates would be finally awarded the scholarship.

Subiects: The Applications are invited in the following subjects:

(A) Enqineering and Technoloey:

l. Electronics/Electrical 2. EnvironmentalStudies 3. Remote Sensing Technology 4. CommunicationEngineering 5. Biotechnology or Biochemical Engineering 6. Robotics 7. Computer Applications /Computer Science 8. AerospaceEngineering/Aeronautics 9. CivilEngineering/Architecture 10. Material Science I l. Mining Engineering and 12. MarineEngineering.

(B) Science (Pure and Applied) l. Mathematics 2. Molecular Biology 3. Physics 4. Chemistry (including Pharmaceutical/l\4edicinal Chemistry).

(C) Agriculture l. Agronomy & Forestry.

(D) Humanities and Social Sciences

l. History

2. Sociology

3. Management Studies

4. Economics

5. Philosophy

6. Psychology

7. Law

8. English(Literature/Linguistics)

9. Political Science with International Relations.

Note: Application in more than one subject and one course will lead to disqualification ofthe candidature.
