About the Internship Programme:

Law students aspiring to gain first hand exposure to constitutional litigation and judicial processes at the highest level of India’s judiciary are invited to apply for an internship with the Chambers of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Augustine George Masih, Judge, Supreme Court of India. This opportunity is ideal for academically driven individuals seeking to deepen their understanding of appellate practice, judicial reasoning, and public law.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Open to 4th and 5th year students of the 5-year law programme, and 3rd year students of the 3-year law programme.
  • Applicants must demonstrate strong research and writing skills, academic discipline, and a keen interest in constitutional and administrative law.

What to expect?

Interns will be engaged in:

  • Legal research and analysis on matters before the Hon’ble Judge
  • Drafting case briefs and synopsis under supervision
  • Observing courtroom proceedings and understanding procedural nuances
  • Assisting in comparative legal research and jurisprudential studies

Important Instructions:

  • Applicant must be in their fourth or fifth year of the 5-Year Law program or in the final year of the 3-Year Law program. However, this mandate may be relaxed subject to demonstrable experience, knowledge, and skills in law. 
  • Applicant must have pursued at least one internship at the trial court(s), and one at any of the High Courts within India. Preference would be given to demonstrable experience of judicial internship(s).
  • Filling up of this form or any application for internship acknowledged to be received by the Chamber does not confer a right to intern for the concerned applicant. It is merely an invitation to apply and confirmation of internship shall be subject to scrutiny of the competent authority.
  • Shortlisted applicant(s) would be reached out by the competent authority which shall assess the candidate on their knowledge of law, demeanor, communication skills, etc. Failure to respond thereof shall be deemed as cancellation of the candidature for the applicant.
  • Applicant(s) finalized for internship shall be, ideally, informed three to four weeks prior to their joining, and would be expected to confirm to the said effect at least two weeks prior to the date of joining. However, in case of a subsequent vacancy or cancellation of internship of any of the applicants, other shortlisted applicants, may be reached out within the a week prior to the date of joining. 
  • Candidates would be expected to make their own arrangements for lodging and boarding, along with travel.
  • This opportunity does not entitle the concerned candidate for seeking any remuneration.
