About NLSIU:

NLSIU was the first National Law University established in India in 1986. The premier law school was set up with a mission to pioneer legal education reforms, and to anchor the transformation of the Indian legal system through research and policy interventions.

Ph.D (Law) Programme:

The Ph.D (Law) programme offers candidates an opportunity to contribute to the academic field in their chosen areas of study. ​Candidates are also provided an opportunity to teach or participate in ongoing research at NLSIU, in areas related to their dissertation.

NLSAT 2026:

Admissions opening soon for NLSIU’s Research Degree Programmes for the Academic Year 2026-27! Under these programmes, candidates are also provided an opportunity to teach or participate in ongoing research at NLSIU

Admissions are on the basis of the All-India National Law School Admission Test (NLSAT-PhD).
