BALLB-6th Sem. (2013-18)
LLC, Greater Noida
Rajput & Associates, High Court New Delhi.
The organisation has 2 Associates and 1 intern. Sir was strict disciplinarian but very soft spoken . I understood that Sir was very hardworking and totally committed towards the work and so the same was expected from the interns as well .
I interned from 21st March 2016 to 21st May 2016 .
9:30 am to 6 pm
I was able to work on wide array of matters involving aspects of Corporate Law, Arbitration Law, Contract Law, Procedural Law and Property Law . I used to listen to the proceedings of the cases. Also, I did some research works on those cases. My Sir used to give me one file on a daily basis and I was supposed to analyse it. Later he used to ask questions based on those cases. It helped me gain a lot; both in terms of knowledge and experience.
The work environment was quite healthy. I had quality work to do but it never felt like burden. If I had any doubt the associates were never hesitant in explaining them.
No Stipend
On the first day I was introduced to all the staff. There was a certain code of conduct which i was told to follow. I had an uniform dress code. I was’nt given any files to study as it was my first day .
The experience which i gained is Priceless. To be honest, what i loved the most was learning while listening to the proceedings. It helped me gain practical knowledge. We could make several contacts and got amazing explosure since we had the opportunity to meet and interact with famous advocates and eminent jurists.
One should know the importance of time !
If you have not been exposed to litigation and need a good break or want to understand how it works then this can be your perfect break. This was my second litigation internship and it helped me in getting my basics right and strong.
One of my favorite quotes is, “ The size of your problems is nothing compared with your ability to solve them. Don’t overestimate your problems and never underestimate yourself.” This quote is very important for an law student as well as for life. An internship may seem intimidating, but it is important to examine your interest in depth so that you can be confident in all of your abilities. As you develop you develop your career path , remember to be yourself and let your natural light shine. Seek out opportunities that reflect what you care about and want to pursue, most importantly HAVE FUN !!
