Organisations, in essence, have many intellectual property assets which need their careful consideration for beneficial usage in the company’s portfolio. In essence, thus, the amount of resources to be deployed on a particular Intellectual property asset, and the probability of the asset being beneficial to the organisation are both essential information which are required and sought after.
In practice, thus organisations conduct Intellectual Property Audits for the analysis of exiting intellectual property held by the organisations and for the further effective utilisation of the same. As a need, it is important to understand the nuances and benefits behind an IP Audit to be carried in an organisation and therefore its discourse is highly beneficial to prospective IP lawyers and management structures.
About the Speakers
Mr. Vikrant Rana: Managing Partner, S.S. Rana & Co.
Mr. Vikrant Rana, has rich industry experience in the field of Intellectual property law in the Indian and SAARC region. He has an experience spanning over 18 years, during which he has covered many areas of Intellectual Property laws including with a keen focus on Trademarks, Patents, Designs and Copyrights.
He is also a litigator and an Advocate-on-Record (AOR) before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, and has pleaded before the various courts, including the Supreme Courts and High Courts in India. He has also appeared before the Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB), Trade Marks Registry, Patent Office, as well as the Copyright Board of India. Most recently, he has also appeared as one of the top 50 Intellectual Property Lawyers recognized by the Indian Business Journal, in India.
Also armed, with extreme depth of knowledge with working with many eminent companies of global repute, he is well acquainted with modern market trends, and exudes a practical business approach and expertise.
