“Law School Journey” Till Now

It feels like as if it was yesterday when I entered the Law School. Living all in the student of the year movie mode and then I realize that I am already done with half of my journey. Surprisingly, I am anxious and excited both at the same time.

Today when I retrace my journey of these two and a half years in law school, I feel I gained a treasure of knowledge and learned to do multitasking. I feel that the initial three years for any law student are the most precious ones as you have the golden chance to create a bright future for yourself.

Since the very first year, the concept of the moot court was quite fascinating for me. The law seemed pretty easy in the beginning as I had torts and contracts as subjects and as I entered into the forthcoming years, I felt like there was up gradation from level 0 to straight level 2. This particular world demands all your attention and dedication.

Luckily my journey was not all filled with bookish knowledge. The various workshops organized help me a lot to improve upon my skills. I also had the opportunity of visiting the Parliament and Bhondsi jail, which is nearby to my college. Until this, I had an altogether different perception about jail and life inside it but after this, all the misconceptions vanished. Apart from these trips, the most amazing element of law school journey is the legal aid camps because you get the real time experience of showcasing your knowledge and helping the needy.

One thing that I have been warned about from the very first day is CV. No matter how brilliant you are academically but if you do not have a well build up CV with moot court experiences, publications, conference or seminar experiences your law school life is a waste and your scores can do little good to you.

There were many ups and downs in this journey so far but I managed to overcome all and come out as a winner. But surely my journey would not have been incomplete without the wonderful faculty I have here. They were always present to guide me in the right direction. I simply feel that words would be less to describe the journey till now and beyond.

It is a one-time experience and you should make the most of it. Friends, fun, assignments, internships, exams, field trips all collectively make this journey a memorable one.So if at any point of time your college journey takes an unexpected turn, never give up. Look for your friends or your mentors and you will definitely find your way out—whatever it may be.
