About Organization:
The organisation is a law firm which deals with mostly the matters related to Intellectual Property Rights. The firm at present has 4 associates and takes about 4-5 interns at a time. Getting an internship at this firm is not very difficult one can get internship by applying 2-3 months in advance through website www.albalawoffices.com or sending their CV to any of the assocites mail id which can be easily available from the website of the organisation. The associates are ready to help the interns but due to shortage of associates sometimes it gets difficult for the associates to give time to the queries of the interns.
Duration of the Internship:
One month [1st – 29th April,2016] but the student looking for an assessment internship can also apply here.
Timing:
The timing of the firm was 10:30am to 7pm and the inetrns were to strictly adhere with the timings. Even if a slightest delay of 10-15 minutes occurs then the interns need to inform the associates the reason of getting late.
Main Task Work Profile:
My main task at the intern was doing research on the various IP issues and prepare the short article for the firm. Sometimes, the intern can be asked to go to various offices of the firms client for collecting vrious documents.
Work Environment at office:
The work environment of the office for the interns was good. The associates and the staff at the office were polite with the interns and the associates used to care for the interns as they have known them for many times. The associates used to be strict when the interns were not able to complete the work assigned to them within a stipulated time. The doors of the associates and main director were always open for the interns if they have any query regarding the work assigned to them until they have a meetig or conferencee call going on.
Stipend:
There was no stipend paid to the interns except to the interns who were doing the assessment internship and it did not matter me a lot as I was there for learning and not earning.
First day at organization:
I was told to report at 10:30am on 1stApril,2016 so by 10:25am I was in the office as it is said first impression is the last impression. I handed my internship letter to one of the associate and he took me to the place alloted to the interns for doing work.
Best Part of Internship:
Best part of the internship was I developed a love for law books and learned the tactics involved in doing a proper research by which one can excel in writing research papers.
Biggest Lesson:
The biggest lesson learned during this internship was neither hesitate to keep points wherever you are right nor hesitate to aadmit your mistakes if any.
Any Message to other Law Students:
At the end would just like to say that when you enter in law school’s you do not have much knowledge of the scopes of law so while applying for the first internship you need to search various scopes and take advice from each of your senior wether a topper or not. Never let the light of attaining knowledge eextinguish in the duration of your course. Law is a very noble career where you can help the poor without any boundation just need to be calm and supportive. While applying for interns do not look how much bucks you are getting just look how much knowledge you are getting from the internship and how you can utilise that knowledge in upliftment of the society and yourself. Never be afraid to raise voice against the wrong which you see. All the best to all the young law aspirants..
