Work Environment at office *
It was a pleasant work experience. Firm had about 6 Associates to assist my Senior. They rendered guidance. Work was interesting and a little stressful as well. I was exposed to various variety of cases. I had a choice to pick a file and study about a case of my choice.
Stipend *
No stipend. Basically as a student I was there to learn and law firm did a favour to me by teaching the how when what about the cases and court proceedings.
First day at organization *
First day at organisation was pleasant as I was asked to read the file and summary it according to my understanding. Which is pretty much easy to do. I had time to relax as well. Had been to court to watch the proceeding. First day at court left me a little blank because practically law works a lot more differently than what is taught at classroom. But learning at court is fun and if one choose to take up advocacy as a profession then definitely spend more time at courts than classroom would help.
Best Part of Internship *
Observation of court proceedings at different court. A beautiful experience as you get to meet a lot of people who have various queries problems and you get a chance to do client counseling (family court) . Watch how a case takes shape. The Arguments.. Cross examination.. everything was fun and informative.
Biggest Lesson *
Hardwork..Passion.. Determination.. persistence are key to success. Practical knowledge of law is more important than subjective and once a law student is always a student.. regular study is a must. One has to be well acquainted with the subject. Nothing is possible over night and at once.
Anything else you’d like to tell
Law is a beautiful profession. Representing an aggrieved human and helping him get justice is noble. Black coat is a matter of pride and never trade your pride for money.
Any Message to other Law Students
Never listen what people have to say. Never let anyone demotivate you. Hardwork and dedication will definitely pay off. Never give up on your goal. All the best !
