About IJOSLCA

The Indian Journal of Socio-Legal and Contemporary Issues (IJOSLCA) is a student run online law journal started by the conjoint efforts of collaboration of students across various NLUs and Central universities in the country. Under the guidance of Dr. Faizan Mustafa as the Patron and the esteemed Professors of NLUs in the Advisory Board, IJOSLCA intends to provide quality research papers.

IJOSLCA is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal. It aims to provide an active platform that stimulates academicians, practitioners, researchers and students to engage in deliberate discussions and reviews on diversified issues of socio-legal and contemporary importance. Furthermore, it imparts a platform to critical comprehension into divergent fields of law.

The Journal is hereby calling for papers, articles and case commentaries for its Vol.I, Issue I.

Submission Categories

The following categories of submission will be considered for
publication:

·    Research Papers: 4,000 to 8,000 words;

·    Long Articles: 3,500 to 6,000 words ;

·    Short Articles/Essays: 2,000 to 3,500 words;

·   Case commentaries: 1,500 to 2,500 words.

Word limits are inclusive of footnotes.

Submission Guidelines

▪  The submissions shall be original, unpublished and shall not be under
consideration anywhere.

▪  The manuscript shall strictly be free from plagiarism (except the
accepted 20%), any spelling mistakes and grammatical errors.

▪ Each submission must be accompanied by an Abstract. The word limit for the abstract shall be 300 words.

        ▪ Submission shall only be entertained on mentioned themes (given in the brochure).

        ▪  Only one paper per author is acceptable.

      ▪  Co-authorship by a maximum of two authors is permitted.

Formatting Guidelines

The submissions must strictly adhere to the following formatting guidelines:

▪ The citation style shall strictly be in consonance with Harvard Bluebook (20th Edition). The non-compliance to the proper footnoting
method shall be subject to rejection.

▪   The body of  the paper must be in Times New Roman, font size 12 with line spacing 1.5. The footnotes must be in Times New Roman, font size 1 with line spacing 1.

▪  The margins should be 1’’ from all sides.

 Submission Procedure

➢  IJOSLCA accepts electronic submissions only. The submissions must be mailed to ijoslca.editorial@gmail.com with the subject “Submission for IJOSLCA” in .doc or
.docx format.

➢  The details of the author (name, name of the institution, and contact details) and the
title of the paper must be contained in a separate attachment in .doc or .docx
format.

Important Dates

➢  Submission of full paper (soft copy):  5th June, 2020.

➢  Acknowledgement of the submission: within 48 hours of submission.

➢  Intimation of selection / rejection: Within 15 days of the submission (20th
June).

Publication Fee –

The publication is free of cost.

Awards –

    ▪       Authors will be provided: A Certificate of Publication.

    ▪       Author of the best two papers would be awarded a cash prize.
