Bharati Vidyapeeth University’s New Law College, established in 1978, is the premier institute of international excellence in the field of legal education.

ABOUT THE JOURNAL

MADHYASTATHA – the ADR Cell, an initiative by Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be) University in New Law College, Pune has been working efficiently in training and developing the skill sets of the students in the field of ADR; i.e. Arbitration, Mediation, Conciliation and Negotiation, by conducting various seminars and intra college competition.

Keeping the aim of promoting the culture of ADR among the students, MADHYASTHTA has stepped in the world of research by issuing a special edition research journal on Alternate Dispute Resolution in collaboration with Bharati Law Review (UGC Recognized) which aims at promoting a dialogue between students/faculties from all across the country adding to research in alternative dispute resolution and will publish scholarly submissions on contemporary issues related to alternative dispute resolutions.

Madhyastatha welcomes original contributions, which provide high-quality legal analysis of laws and amendments, related to Arbitration, Mediation, Negotiation and Conciliation.

ELIGIBILITY

“MADHYASTHTA-Solace For Every Dispute” is a special edition research journal in collaboration with Bharati Law Review ISSN 2278-6996 and the journal is double-blind peer-reviewed. They are looking forward to submissions from members of the Bar, Bench and the academia.
Submissions can be in the form of long articles, short articles, case comments, legislative notes and book reviews.

SUBMISSIONS

Articles

An article must conduct a complete analysis of the area of Arbitration, Mediation and Conciliation, which the author seeks to highlight. It must contain a comprehensive study of the existing law, indicating the lacunae therein, and must contain an attempt to suggest possible changes which can address the said lacunae. An article should be between 4,000-5,000 words.

Essays

An essay is more adventurous as it challenges challenging existing paradigms/norms and provides a fresh outlook to field of ADR. It is strongly recommended that essays be considerably more concise than articles, in terms of scope and conceptualization. An essay is thus advised to be between 3,000-5,000 words.

Notes

A note is a relatively concise form of an argument advanced by the author. The focus of a note should be on a relatively new debate or controversy regarding the interpretation or implementation in the laws in the field of Arbitration, Mediation and Conciliation.

Notes shall primarily highlight contemporary issues of above mentioned topics, which need to be addressed, and the authors are expected to offer a solution. The maximum word limit for a manuscript in the form of note is 2,500 words.

Comments

A comment is where the author may decide to critique any recent/landmark judicial pronouncement or any recent legislation or bill before the Parliament or State Legislature. The word limit for a comment is 2,500 words.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Electronic Submission: Submission of a manuscript shall be through e-mail in Microsoft Word format only.

A separate file of PDF version of the submitted manuscript is essential along with the original paper submitted in MS Word format.

Citation Format

Please use References rather than Footnotes & Endnotes. References shall conform to the20th edition of THE BLUEBOOK A UNIFORM SYSTEM OF CITATION.

Citations shall be formatted as Justified, Times New Roman, 8pt. Spacing shall be: Before – 0pt; After – 0pt; Line Spacing – Single Lines; Hanging – 0.5”

Title and Authorship Information

The covering letter accompanying the submitted manuscript should consist of the following information:

  1. Paper title
  2. Author’s full name
  3. Full institutional/author’s/both mailing addresses
  4. Corresponding author’s email

Abstract: The manuscript should contain an abstract. The abstract should be self-contained and citation-free and should not exceed 200 words.

Submissions of Abstracts and Papers have to be made via email to blr@bvpnlcpune.org with the subject as “Submission of Research Paper/Essays/Note/Comment/Book review for Research Journal”.
