ABOUT

International Institute of Human Rights Society (Regd.) (IIHR) is organizing a Debate Competition on the theme “Debating Human Rights in Contemporary India” on the occasion of Human Rights Day on 10th December, 2017 at Multipurpose Hall, India International Centre, New Delhi.

IIHR is a non-political, charitable organisation acting as an institutional base and as a vehicle for activities relating to Human Rights. It promotes and disseminates the idea of Human Rights within and outside India. It is an organisation that undertakes and facilitates research study and discussion on the matters related to Human Rights.

TOPICS FOR THE COMPETITION

  1. Right to Die: Should Euthanasia be legalised?
  2. AADHAAR Linkage: Better transparency or invasion of privacy?
  3. Should Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, 1986 be struck downfor decriminalising homosexuality in India?
  4. Should Death Penalty be abolished?

ACCOMMODATION 

No accommodation and reimbursements for travel expenses will be provided by the Organizers. Arrangements have to be made by the participants themselves.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Kindly note that registration DOES NOT mean that the team has been selected. Selection of teams will done through DRAW OF LOTS and 8 teams will be selected and announcement regarding the same will be made on 2nd December 2017 via email.
