About ISLR

Indian Society for Legal Research (ISLR) is a rapidly growing community of niche academicians, thinkers, activists, lawyers, professors, legal volunteers, paralegals and legal entrepreneurs who stand apart from the rest of the community with their zeal for deep thinking, leadership skills, and dedication for bringing innovation to the legal field.

About the Course

International courts and tribunals (‘ICTs’) are judicial bodies comprised up of independent judges who are entrusted with adjudicating international disputes on the basis of international law and according to a pre-determined set of rules of procedure and rendering decisions which are binding on the parties (Judicial Settlement of International Disputes).

A distinctive feature of modern international society is the increase in the number of international judicial bodies, dispute settlement and implementation control bodies; and in the range and importance of the issues they are called upon to address. These factors reflect a new stage in the delivery of international justice.

This course has been designed to encourage law students and scholars to discuss and address, in critical and analytical fashion, the legal and policy aspects of the functioning of international courts and tribunals, including their institutional, substantive, and procedural aspects.
