About the Book

Dr. Anjani Singh Tomar and Dr. Saira Gori are Associate and Assistant Professors of Law respectively at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar. They are inviting contributors to submit chapters for their book on ‘Changing Dynamics of Policing and Police Administration in India.’

The present proposal of the book on the topic of Law related to Police and Police Administration aims at finding out the issues on the topic & how they can be addressed. The outline of the book is prepared as a part of the curriculum present in many law schools across the country. Also, it is an effort to strengthen the knowledge base for the issues related to one of the oldest institutions of our country.

Presently the Police structure is based on the colonial set up. Major Law commissions have reported having changed from time to time. But as we see, this institution much remains on the old foundations only. Today when we are entering into the era of artificial intelligence and society being changed drastically, it is high time that our Police should also be reformed. The present edition of the book aims at the same aspect.
